Historical Documentation

As part of a documentation project, I surveyed and recorded the historic residence at 92 Powell Avenue in Ottawa. I began by photographing the building in detail, capturing its architectural features and materials from multiple angles. Attention was given to character-defining elements and the site’s context. These images were then processed in Agisoft PhotoScan to generate a scaled photogrammetric elevation of the front façade. Using this elevation as a base, I created a detailed CAD drawing that accurately represented the building’s proportions, material patterns, and ornamental details. To complete the CAD drawing, I assembled a presentation sheet that included the final drawing, a contextual site plan, and a custom title block.

Using Agisoft PhotoScan, I created a photogrammetric elevation which involved capturing a series of high-resolution images from multiple angles and importing them into PhotoScan to generate a detailed 3D model. From this, I extracted a true-to-scale orthographic elevation that preserves architectural features like the steep gabled roof, arched entryway, and original window designs. This method allowed for an accurate documentation of the building's current state.
